Hoyer Electro-Acoustic

This Hoyer was sitting in the music shop near my old flat for 700 DM. There
was also a right-handed one which was later sold to my bandmate in "Dead End Street".
Hoyer is a famous name in Germany, once being a rival to Höfner and Framus.
It's most memorable guitar was named the "Herr in Frack" (Man in evening dress).
This Hoyer, however, is built by a revival of the company which imports guitars from
Korea, despite which it's a really nice acoustic. It's handled 99% of my acoustic recording,
and usually comes with me to parties and barbeques. It's fitted with a fishman preamp.
It was originally fitted with 13s, but I found that fitting electro-acoustic 10s
made it far easier to play, and anyway, it's an electro-acoustic, and so it doesn't
really need a heavy set of strings to drive the soundbox. Whilst recording at
Topaz, Reinhard, the owner, said that it had a
lovely sweet acoustic sound. Sadly I didn't get to find out if it sounded even lovelier
when recorded with one of his expensive Neumann mikes, as he DI'd it.
